Captain Sam Atwell - Down Sea Charters
Fishing around Vero Beach has been productive lately, with plenty of opportunities both inshore and along the beach.
Inshore: Snook are being found throughout the area whenever the tide is moving. Focus on areas with good current and active bait. On the incoming tide, some of these fish have also been pushing out toward the nearshore waters.
Along the Beach: Mutton snapper, sheepshead, and plenty of jacks have been showing up just off the beach, giving anglers a good mix of species to target close to shore.
Indian River Lagoon: With all the recent freshwater entering the system, juvenile tarpon have been active throughout the river. Keep an eye out for rolling fish and signs of bait.
