Our History
White’s Tackle has been a cornerstone of the Fort Pierce fishing community for over 100 years. In 1925, the shop first opened its doors in the historic P.P. Cobb building in downtown Fort Pierce. What began as a small local business during the rise of the area’s commercial fishery has since grown into a trusted name among anglers across Florida and beyond. After World War II, White’s Tackle moved to 521 North Second Street in Fort Pierce, and in 2008, relocated to its current location on US1. Since then, we've expanded to three additional locations — Stuart, Vero Beach, and Jupiter — to better serve Florida’s vibrant fishing community.
Through the decades, White’s Tackle has remained true to its roots: committed to the local community, passionate about the sport, and dedicated to helping anglers of all levels. As we’ve grown with the ever-evolving world of fishing, our mission has stayed the same — to provide top-quality tackle, unmatched service, and expert advice.
Our team of knowledgeable anglers has fished around the globe, learning techniques from some of the best captains and crews in the business. Whether you're chasing snook on the flats, sailfish offshore, or traveling to exotic waters, we’re here to outfit you for success and share what we’ve learned along the way.
White’s Tackle ships worldwide, and we’re always happy to help with your next adventure. Please enjoy browsing our site and check out the Fishing Reports section for the latest local updates. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at Info@WhitesTackle.com — we’d love to hear from you.
If these walls could talk, they’d tell the story of Fort Pierce’s fishing history — and we’re proud to still be a part of it.
